Eastern Harvest Cafe Reviews
I was disappointed to see that Chute's had closed, but decided to try the Eastern Harvest Café for breakfast about a week ago; the physical layout is the same although the interior has been spruced up and has a nice warm, feel. I sat at the counter and was able to watch the crew. It was obvious some still were relatively new, but that did not seem to affect customer service and they seem to be developing well into a team. For the food, Eggs Benedict is my go to test. I substituted real bacon for Canadian bacon. The English muffin was toasted just right, the eggs were poached perfectly and the home fries are even homemade with the skins on. My only negative is that I prefer my home fries crispier, but I am sure if I had requested it that's how they would've come. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the Easton harvest café and will keep it on my list for breakfast.
New business in the Chute's Casco location. We had breakfast on Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. They need some time to work out the kinks with the service, but when they do, I think they will do well. The food was well prepared. No Texas toast but they had very nice sour dough toast! The coffee was good. They have a full liquor license and they made an excellent Bloody Mary. Service was very friendly and accommodating, but they need to realize that you have to come by with water and coffee refills when you're doing breakfast service. I will miss Chute's but I'll bet by mid summer, things will be much running more smoothly.
Delicious breakfast! We got the lobster Benedict, French toast (with real Maine maple syrup and fresh strawberries) the lobster breakfast sandwich and blueberry pancakes (with home fries) Everyone loved their meal and for the price this place can't be beat! Will be back soon!
